Thrifty Tables

On my last garage sale adventure I spotted these tables.

One was marked for $10 and the other didn't have a price marked on it. So I asked the lady having the sale if the $10 was for both tables or just one. And she said it was for both. Score! After some paint and spray on polyurethane, here is how they turned out!

Can you believe those are the same knobs that came on the table? They just pop against the white. So for $5 each I would say they were a great deal!

Camo birthday party!

Are you ready for a good time??

some letters cut out on the cricut!

Each kid will feel special with a place just for them!

the dollar tree, 2 boxes = $2 can't beat that!

Also at the party: Face paint, a nerf war, and juice in "hugs" they look just like little grenades.

Birthday Banner Tutorial

Cut paper to 8x8 squares

Cut letters on cricut

Hole punch each side and run string through the holes, taping the string to the back side of the paper.

Bridal Shower

What do girls love more than anything?

Getting married or celebrating someone close to them getting marriend.

I had the pleasure of planning my sister in laws shower last May.

The shower was held in the tea room of the Belvidere Masion in Claremore OK.

Lunch was serverd to all the lovely ladies that attended.

Menu cards doubled as Thank you notes.

You know what bugs me the most about the event business?

The amount of $ is cost to have a cake made....really isn't

it just some flour, water, eggs, and a few other items, and they want to charge me an arm and a leg for it.
Well I beat them at their own game. Yes I did order the cake from a bakery. I am not a great baker so sometime you have to spend the $, but I did save my self $12.00 by decorating it myself.

How did I do it? I took a metal cookie cutter and one pack of sprinkles purchased from Target's dollar bin.

I placed the cookie cutter on the cake and poured the sprinkles in, it was as easy as that!

(You know everything taste better with sprinkles!)

Oh yeah, I also made simple  name tags for the guest, something so easy was a great way to get to know the other ladies of the party!

A new little cowboy

Simple invites made on the computer, printed on cream colored card stock 

and then backed with brown card stock.

Shower was created with the soon to be parents in mind.

The mother is an OSU grad

and the father a cowboy right down to his boots.

Colors of orange and black we choses to carry the OSU cowboy theme.

Valentines Day

Having 2 kids under the age of 4 I have found that they don't care how much you spend on them they just love surprises. On valentine's morning my kids enjoyed breakfast with heart shaped pancakes, served on a personalized place mat, and apple juice in a fancy cup.

What did it cost me?? about $1.00 per kid if that and trust me it was worth every penny!

Zebra Bedroom

Dresser found at a thrift shop for $50.00 add some black paint, and it is now a great piece of furniture.

Can't have a little girls room without a

 "shoe bucket"

A great way to get my daughter to put her shoes away!

Sugar & Spice

I recently threw a baby shower for one of my friends. She chose the colors pink, aqua, and yellow. She isn't big on animals for babies so we went with patterns instead. Paisley, stripes, and polka dots were our starting point.

Of course for a baby girl we need a Sugar & Spice Candy Shop!

For the candy shop awning I bought a roll of pink gift wrap and traced off the lines with a pencil then later went over it with a black paint pen. In the pictures it is hard to tell but every other stripe on the awning is glittery and for that I used glitter Modge Podge. The background for the shop is a vintage sheet that I cut in half. I was so lucky to have that on hand and in the perfect colors!

Guests were asked to fill a punch cup full of candy before they sat down which would later be used as their markers for baby bingo.

Each layer of the cake was a different flavor, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.

Instead of punch we had pink lemonade. Lemon slices frozen with pink lemonade in a bundt pan made a super cute ice ring.

Now for the fun part! Decorations! The event took place in an old church with beautiful stained glass windows around the entire room. To make the windows tie in with the baby shower we strung baby clothes made out of paper across each window.

For each table I made Heather Bailey's paper globes.
